Product Description

The JIMS 1154 .3772″ Solid Carbide Reamer is a precision tool designed to ream valve guides in cylinder heads. The reamer features a 2″ long pilot for perfect alignment with the valve guide, and is made from solid carbide for long life. The reamer is easy to use, and comes with instructions for ream valve guides.

Instructions

1. Install the cylinder head in a vise. Protect the cylinder head with a clean towel or rag.
2. Insert the reamer pilot in the guide and lubricate with a good quality cutting oil.
3. Ream at 100-200 RPM with a slow feed rate. Let the reamer do the work and do not force the reamer.
4. After reaming all the way through, pull the reamer out without stopping the rotation. (DO NOT reverse rotation!)
5. Clean the chips off the reamer and you’re ready for the next valve guide.
